For those who don't know what Sororities or Fraternities are, here is a small breakdown on what each one means.
Sorority - 1. A chiefly social organization of women students at a college or university, usually designated by     Greek letters 2. An association or a society of women.

Fraternity

  1. A group of people sharing a common profession or interests: "members of the hunting fraternity".
  2. A male students' society in a university or college.

Most people believe that being in a fraternity or a sorority will increase their social life on college campuses, which in most cases is true. But unfortunately people who are interested, have to go through the "pledging process" Usually pledges are Hazed during this process. It varies in between what college you attend. But for the most part, the Fraternities which consists of males do physical abuse. Here is an Article from the New York times talking about a few cases that have cause Chapters of a specific Fraternity/ Sorority to be suspended from campus and sometimes... completely expelled.

Topic Change

So I changed the topic of my paper to College Fraternities and Sororities.
Here is a quick video of what members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Inc. of Spelman College in ATL, GA do. This is called "strolling". Its a combination of hip-hop & stepping. They compete in strolling competitions on campus to declare their presence. This usually attracts pledges (students considering/applying for a soror or frat.) as it gives them a little taste of what they do on campus. By the way The Alpha Kappa Alpha ladies are part of the NPHC organization. (BGLOS)
